1. Esther did not make known her people or her kindred, for Mordecai had charged her not to make these known.

10以斯帖未曾将她是那一族、有那些亲属告诉人，因为末底改嘱咐她不可叫人知道。

2. 11 And every day Mordecai took his walk before the square of the women's house, to see how Esther was and what would be done to her.

11末底改天天在女院前边行走，要知道以斯帖平安不平安，并后事如何。

3. 12 So they told Mordecai Esther's words.

12人就把以斯帖这话告诉末底改。

4. 12 And Mordecai came again to the king's gate. But Haman hasted to his house mourning, and having his head covered.

12末底改仍回到朝门，哈曼却忧忧闷闷地蒙着头，急忙回家去了。

5. His wife Zeresh and all his friends said to him, "Have a gallows built, seventy-five feet high, and ask the king in the morning to have Mordecai hanged on it.

14他的妻细利斯和他一切的朋友对他说，不如立一个五丈高的木架，明早求王将末底改挂在其上，然后你可以欢欢喜喜地随王赴席。

6. And Mordecai went forth from the presence of the king in royal robes of blue and white, and with a large crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple; and the city of Susa shouted and rejoiced.

15末底改穿着蓝色白色的朝服，头戴大金冠冕，又穿紫色细麻布的外袍，从王面前出来；书珊城的人民都欢呼快乐。

7. And Mordecai wrote these things down, and he sent letters to all the Jews who were in all the provinces of King Ahasuerus, both near and far,

20末底改记录这些事，并将书信送达亚哈随鲁王各省远近所有的犹大人，

8. 21 In those days, while Mordecai sat in the king's gate, two of the king's chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.

21当那时候，末底改坐在朝门，王的太监中有两个守门的，辟探和提列，恼恨亚哈随鲁王，想要下手害他。

9. And the Jews undertook what they had begun to do and what Mordecai had written to them to do.

23于是，犹大人执行他们所开始实行，并末底改所写要他们作的事。

10. Then Esther the queen， the daughter of Abihail， and Mordecai the Jew， wrote with all authority， to confirm this second letter of Purim.

12. And it was found written， that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh， two of the king's chamberlains， the keepers of the door， who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.

2正遇见书上写着说，王的太监中有两个守门的，辟探和提列，想要下手害亚哈随鲁王，末底改将这事告诉王后。

13. 2 And the king took off his ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it unto Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.

2王摘下自己的戒指，就是从哈曼追回的，给了末底改。以斯帖派末底改管理哈曼的家产。

14. And the king took off his signet ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it to Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.

15. Now there was in the citadel of Susa a Jew of the tribe of Benjamin, named Mordecai son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish,

16. 5 Then called Esther for Hatach, one of the king's chamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a commandment to Mordecai, to know what it was, and why it was.

5以斯帖就把王所派伺候她的一个太监，名叫哈他革召来，吩咐他去见末底改，要知道这是什么事，是什么缘故。

17. And when Haman saw that Mordecai did not bow down or pay homage to him, Haman was filled with rage.

5哈曼见末底改向他不跪不拜，就怒气填胸。

18. There was a Jew in Susa the capital whose name was Mordecai the son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, a Benjaminite,

5在书珊京城有一个犹大人，名叫末底改，是便雅悯人基士的曾孙，示每的孙子，睚珥的儿子；

19. King Xerxes replied to Queen Esther and to Mordecai the Jew, "Because Haman attacked the Jews, I have given his estate to Esther, and they have hanged him on the gallows.

7亚哈随鲁王对王后以斯帖和犹大人末底改说、因哈曼要下手害犹大人、我已将他的家产赐给以斯帖、人也将哈曼挂在木架上。

20. Who came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Aza***ah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. The number, I say, of the men of the people of Israel was this;

7他们是同着所罗巴伯,耶书亚,尼希米,亚撒利雅,拉米,拿哈玛尼,末底改,必珊,米斯毗列,比革瓦伊,尼宏,巴拿回来的。

21. Mordecai had a cousin named Hadassah, whom he had brought up because she had neither father nor mother.

7末底改抚养他叔叔的女儿哈大沙（后名以斯帖），因为她没有父母。

22. When a Mordecai is raised, the whole era changes. Saints today must restore such prayer!

一个末底改起来,整个时代改变。圣徒今日要恢复这样的祷告！

23. God had providentially arranged for Mordecai to be in the right place at the right time.

上帝恩眷地安排末底改适时适地听到这个密谋。

24. Everyone in the capital city of Susa and beyond was to bow low when he passed by.Everyone did - except one man - Mordecai, Esther's uncle.

书珊城中的众人一见到哈曼都跪拜他，唯独末底改不跪不拜。

25. Now in Shushan the palace there was a certain Jew, whose name was Mordecai, the son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, a Benjamite;

书珊城有一个犹大人,名叫末底改,是便雅悯人基士的曾孙,示每的孙子,睚珥的儿子。

26. "Now there was a certain Jew in Shushan named Mordecai, the son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, a Benjamite;"

书珊城有一个犹大人，名叫末底改，是便雅悯人基士的曾孙，示每的孙子，睚珥的儿子。

27. Since they had told Haman of Mordecai's nationality, he sought to destroy all the Jews, Mordecai's people, throughout the realm of King Ahasuerus.

于是哈曼打算把薛西斯王整个帝国内的一切犹太人，和摩尔德开一起杀尽灭绝。

28. So Mordecai went away and carried out all of Esther's instructions.

于是末底改照以斯帖一切所吩咐的去行。

29. So the Jews agreed to continue the celebration they had begun, doing what Mordecai had written to them.

于是，犹大人按着末底改所写与他们的信，应承照初次所守的守为永例。

30. And all the king's servants, that were in the king's gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him.But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence.

亚哈随鲁王十二年正月、就是尼散月、人在哈曼面前、按日日月月掣普珥、就是掣签、要定何月何日为吉、择定了十二月、就是亚达月。

31. King Xerxes replied to Queen Esther and to Mordecai the Jew, 'Because Haman attacked the Jews, I have given his estate to Esther, and they have hanged him on the gallows.

亚哈随鲁王对王后以斯帖和犹大人末底改说:“因哈曼要下手害犹大人，我已将他的家产赐给以斯帖，人也将哈曼挂在木架上。

32. Then King Ahasuerus said to Esther the queen and to Mordecai the Jew, See now, I have given Esther the family of Haman, and he has come to his death by hanging, because he made an attack on the Jews.

亚哈随鲁王对王后以斯帖和犹大人末底改说、因哈曼要下手害犹大人、我已将他的家产赐给以斯帖、人也将哈曼挂在木架上。

33. "Then King ahasuerus said to Esther the queen and to Mordecai the Jew, See now, I have given Esther the family of Haman, and he has come to his death by hanging, because he made an attack on the Jews."

亚哈随鲁王对王后以斯帖，和犹大人末底改说，因哈曼要下手害犹大人，我已将他的家产赐给以斯帖，人也将哈曼挂在木架上。

34. Ahasuerus' insomnia was providential, for he learned that Mordecai had never been rewarded for saving his life.

亚哈随鲁王的不眠症是上帝恩眷，因他藉此知道末底改救了他的生命，却始终未得赏赐。

35. So Queen Esther, daughter of Abihail, along with Mordecai the Jew, wrote with full authority to confirm this second letter concerning Purim.

亚比孩的女儿王后以斯帖,和犹大人末底改以全权写第二封信,坚嘱犹大人守这普珥日。

36. "Then Esther the queen, daughter of abihail, and Mordecai the Jew, sent a second letter giving the force of their authority to the order about the Purim."

亚比孩的女儿王后以斯帖，和犹大人末底改以全权写第二封信，坚嘱犹大人守这普珥日。

37. 10 So they hanged Haman on the gibbet which he had made ready for Mordecai, and the anger of the king abated.

人们遂把哈曼悬在他自己为摩尔德开所做的刑架上；王的忿怒这才平息。

38. And they said these words to Mordecai.

人就把以斯帖这话告诉末底改。

39. for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.

他以为下手害末底改一人是小事，就要灭绝亚哈随鲁王通国所有的犹大人，就是末底改的本族。

40. "and all his acts of power and his great strength and the full story of the high place which the king gave Mordecai, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Media and Persia?"

他以权柄能力所行的，并他抬举末底改使他高升的事，岂不都写在玛代，和波斯王的历史上吗?

41. "Now when they had said this to him day after day and he gave no attention, they let Haman have news of it, to see if Mordecai's behaviour would be overlooked: for he had said to them that he was a Jew."

他们天天劝他，他还是不听，他们就告诉哈曼，要看末底改的事站得住站不住，因他已经告诉他们自己是犹大人。

42. Yet having learned who Mordecai's people were, he scorned the idea of killing only Mordecai.

他们已将末底改的本族告诉哈曼。

43. Who came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. The number, I say, of the men of the people of Israel was this;

他们是同着所罗巴伯,耶书亚,尼希米,亚撒利雅,拉米,拿哈玛尼,末底改,必珊,米斯毗列,比革瓦伊,尼宏,巴拿回来的。

44. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, If Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him.

他的智慧人和他的妻细利斯对他说："你在末底改面前始而败落，他如果是犹大人，你必不能胜他，终必在他面前败落。"

45. Then Esther sent them back to Mordecai with this answer:

以斯帖就吩咐人回报末底改说，

46. Again Esther spake unto Hatach, and gave him commandment unto Mordecai;

以斯帖就吩咐哈他革去见末底改,说

47. Then Esther sent Hathach to say to Mordecai:

48. Then Esther summoned Hathach, one of the king's eunuchs assigned to attend her, and ordered him to find out what was troubling Mordecai and why.

以斯帖就把王所派伺候她的一个太监,名叫哈他革召来,吩咐他去见末底改,要知道这是什么事,是什么缘故。

49. "Then Esther sent for Hathach, one of the king's unsexed servants whom he had given her for waiting on her, and she gave him orders to go to Mordecai and see what this was and why it was."

以斯帖就把王所派伺候她的一个太监，名叫哈他革召来，吩咐他去见末底改，要知道这是什么事，是什么缘故。

50. Esther had not said what family or people she came from, for Mordecai had given her orders not to do so.

以斯帖未曾将籍贯宗族告诉人，因为末底改嘱咐他不可叫人知道。

51. "Esther had not said what family or people she came from, for Mordecai had given her orders not to do so."

52. "Esther had still said nothing of her family or her people, as Mordecai had given her orders; for Esther did what Mordecai said, as when she was living with him."

以斯帖照着末底改所嘱咐的，还没有将籍贯宗族告诉人。因为以斯帖遵末底改的命，如抚养她的时候一样。

53. But Esther had kept secret her family background and nationality just as Mordecai had told her to do, for she continued to follow Mordecai's instructions as she had done when he was bringing her up.

以斯帖照著末底改所嘱咐的还没有将籍贯宗族告诉人．因为以斯帖遵末底改的命、如抚养他的时候一样。

54. Then Harbona, one of the eunuchs attending the king, said, "A gallows seventy-five feet high stands by Haman's house.He had it made for Mordecai, who spoke up to help the king.

伺候王的一个太监名叫哈波拿，说，哈曼为那救王有功的末底改做了五丈高的木架，现今立在哈曼家里。

55. If Haman was indeed an Amalekite descendant, this may well account for the fact that Mordecai would not bow to him.

假如哈曼真的是一个亚玛力族后代，这就可以解释末底改不肯拜他的原因了。

56. Having resolved to hang Mordecai, Haman thought he would be better able to enjoy Esther's second banquet, for the thorium his flesh would finally be gone.

决定绞死末底改之后，哈曼心想他可以较愉快地参加以斯帖的第二次宴会，因为他身上的荆棘终将拔除。

57. And Mordecai gave him an account of what had taken place, and of the amount of money which Haman had said he would put into the king's store for the destruction of the Jews.

又将所抄写传遍书珊城要灭绝犹大人的旨意交给哈他革、要给以斯帖看、又要给他说明、并嘱咐他进去见王、为本族的人、在王面前恳切祈求。

58. But all this gives me no satisfaction as long as I see that Jew Mordecai sitting at the king's gate.

只是我见犹大人末底改坐在朝门,虽有这一切荣耀,也与我无益。

59. Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king's gate.

只是我见犹大人末底改坐在朝门、虽有这一切荣耀、也与我无益。

60. But all this is nothing to me while I see Mordecai the Jew seated by the king's doorway.

61. And all the nobles of the provinces, the satraps, the governors and the king's administrators helped the Jews, because fear of Mordecai had seized them.

各省的首领、总督、省长,和办理王事的人,因惧怕末底改,就都帮助犹大人。

62. And Hatach came and told Esther the words of Mordecai.

哈他革回来，将末底改的话告诉以斯帖。

63. Instead, Haman was hanged on the gallows he had built for Mordecai, and the Jews were given permission to destroy their enemies.The Jewish festival of Purim celebrates this event.

哈曼原定在掣签决定的日子屠戮犹太人，结果反而是犹太人消灭了以国王宠臣哈曼为首的敌视犹太人的人们，后来犹太人就定此日为掣签节（Purim）。

64. And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath.

哈曼见末底改不向他屈身下拜，就非常忿怒。

65. When Haman saw that Mordecai would not kneel down or pay him honor, he was enraged.

哈曼见末底改不跪不拜,他就怒气填胸。

66. Then the king's servants who were at the king's gate said to Mordecai, "Why are you transgressing the king's command?"

在朝门的臣仆问末底改说，你为何违背王的命令呢。

67. 5 There was in the stronghold of Susa a certain Jew named Mordecai, son of Jair, son of Shimei, son of Kish, a Benjaminite,

在稣撒禁城内，有一个犹太人名叫摩尔德开,是雅依尔的儿子,史米的孙子,本雅明族人克士的曾孙，

68. And when her father and mother died, Mordecai took her to himself as his daughter.

她父母死了，末底改就收她为自己的女儿。

69. "That day the king gave all the family of Haman, the hater of the Jews, to Esther the queen. and Mordecai came before the king, for Esther had made clear what he was to her."

当日，亚哈随鲁王把犹大人仇敌哈曼的家产，赐给王后以斯帖。末底改也来到王面前，因为以斯帖已经告诉王，末底改是她的亲属。

70. In those days, while Mordecai sat in the king's gate, two of the king's chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.

当那时候，末底改坐在朝门，王的太监中有两个守门的，辟探和提列，恼恨亚哈随鲁王，想要下手害他。

71. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence.

惟独末底改不跪不拜。

72. 3 And all the rulers of the provinces, and the lieutenants, and the deputies, and officers of the king, helped the Jews; because the fear of Mordecai fell upon them.

拉:8:36他们将王的谕旨交给王所派的总督与河西的省长，他们就帮助百姓，又供给神殿里所需用的。

73. When the scaffold for Mordecai is complete, the royal sleeplessness leads to a reaction in favor of the favored race.

挂末底改的木架预备好了以后，才有哈随鲁王睡不著觉的事情发生。

74. 20 Mordecai recorded these events and sent letters to all the Jews, both near and far, in all the provinces of King Ahasuerus.

摩尔德开于是将这些事记录下来，并向薛西斯王各省远近的犹太人颁发文书，

75. 15 Mordecai left the king's presence clothed in a royal robe of violet and of white cotton, with a large crown of gold and a cloak of crimson byssus.

摩尔德开于是拜别君王出来，身穿紫白相间的御袍，戴着大金冠，披着纯白和朱红色的氅衣。此时稣撒城欢欣雀跃。

76. Every day Mordecai walked back and forth in front of the court of the harem to learn how Esther was and how she fared.

斯2:11末底改天天在女院前边行走、要知道以斯帖平安不平安、并后事如何。

77. It was found written what Mordecai had reported concerning Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's eunuchs who were doorkeepers, that they had sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus.

斯6:2正遇见书上写著说、王的太监中有两个守门的辟探和提列想要下手害亚哈随鲁王．末底改将这事告诉王后。

78. So they hanged Haman on the gallows which he had prepared for Mordecai, and the king's anger subsided.

斯7:10于是人将哈曼挂在他为末底改所豫备的木架上．王的忿怒这才止息。

79. Then Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal robes of blue and white, with a large crown of gold and a garment of fine linen and purple;and the city of Susa shouted and rejoiced.

斯8:15末底改穿著蓝色白色的朝服、头戴大金冠冕、又穿紫色细麻布的外袍、从王面前出来．书珊城的人民、都欢呼快乐。

80. Thus the Jews undertook what they had started to do, and what Mordecai had written to them.

斯9:23于是犹大人、按著末底改所写与他们的信、应承照初次所守的守为永例。
